Who is responsible
TriedTruly is the data controller for your personal data. Contact us at contact@triedtruly.com.
What we collect and why
- Account details: name, email and a hashed password, to give you an account.
- Reviewer profile: display name, city, country, topics, bio and the usernames of accounts you link, so brands can choose reviewers and we can match reviews to you.
- Shipping address: so a brand that has selected you can send the product. It is shared only with that brand.
- Reviews you hand in: the link, your star rating, an excerpt and any screenshot, to verify the review and show it to the brand and on the brand's public page.
- Brand details: company name, website and contact person.
- Early access list: name, email, what you post on or what you sell, and who shared the link with you, to invite people before launch. Based on your consent; leave the list from the link in our email and we delete it.
- Technical data: a sign-in cookie or token. We do not use advertising cookies or trackers in your browser.
- Meta ads: if you came from one of our ads on Facebook or Instagram and join the list, our server tells Meta that you signed up, with your email in hashed (scrambled) form, the ad's click ID, your IP address and browser type. It shows us which ads work and helps Meta show our ads to people likely to join. This is based on our legitimate interest in measuring our ads, and Meta handles it under its own privacy policy. Visitors who didn't come from a Meta ad are not reported.
- TikTok ads: the same for our TikTok ads: if you came from one of them and join the list, our server tells TikTok that you signed up, with your email in hashed (scrambled) form, the ad's click ID, your IP address and browser type. TikTok handles it under its own privacy policy. Visitors who didn't come from a TikTok ad are not reported.
- Visit statistics: we count page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn't recognise you from one day to the next. We see totals, such as which pages are visited, where visitors come from and which country they're in.
The legal bases are performing our agreement with you, our legitimate interest in preventing fraud, and legal obligations such as bookkeeping.
What is public
On a brand's public page we show your first name and the initial of your last name, your city, your star rating, an excerpt, and a link to the review you posted. Your email, address and full name are never shown publicly.
Who we share it with
- Brands whose campaigns you apply to see your profile and linked usernames. Brands that select you also see your shipping address.
- Service providers that host the service, store files, send email and process payments, under data processing agreements.
- Platforms you posted on, when we look up your public review to verify it.
- Meta, when you joined the list from one of our Facebook or Instagram ads (see above).
- TikTok, when you joined the list from one of our TikTok ads (see above).
If a provider processes data outside the EEA, we rely on an approved transfer mechanism such as the EU standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. When you delete your account we delete your profile, applications and submissions. Records we must keep by law, such as payment records, are kept for the period the law requires.
Your rights
You can see and correct your data in your profile, delete your account there, and ask us for a copy, for restriction, or to object, by writing to contact@triedtruly.com. You can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).
